The bears wake up the city intoxicated by the sound of drums and zurla staggering like shamans. Tradition from 1920 till today.
A primordial sound, a dance of a bear begging for forgiveness stumbles across the streets of Prilep. From house to house, door to door, gathering all to go downtown Prilep to see their last dance, before silencing and calming down, just a day before the great Christian holiday Easter.
Tradition, by some, is formed 192 by the guild of city butchers who shut the stores on the last day of the Easter fast, until Easter.
